About the Authors
Maria Langer
I live in Wickenburg, AZ, USA, where I divide my time between writing books and articles about using computers, maintaining a handful of hand-coded and blog-based Web sites, and building a helicopter tour and charter business. Since 1992, I’ve written 70 books and hundreds of articles for print and online publications. I’ve also begun publishing ebooks and creating other training material in digital media formats. I frequently write short tips and how-to pieces for my book support Web site, Maria’s Guides. I also maintain a personal blog, An Eclectic Mind, where I write about the things going on in my life. When I’m not writing, I like to be flying a helicopter for my tour and charter company, Flying M Air. I do local tours of Wickenburg and charter flights to great places like Sedona and the Grand Canyon. I’m also the only helicopter operator in the U.S. offering multiday excursions. My Southwest Circle Helicopter Adventure, for example, is a 6-day excursion that takes just two passengers to some of the southwest’s most scenic destinations.
Miraz Jordan
I live in Wellington, New Zealand, where I’m in charge of nearly a dozen WordPress blogs: my own and for clients. When I’m not working with WordPress I may be writing articles for New Zealand’s Macguide magazine, working on Communitynet Aotearoa, writing my free weekly MacTips newsletter or updating my Learning Centre. Sometimes it’s hard to distinguish work from play, but if I’m not sitting at a computer I may be out skating or skateboarding, walking, taking photos, or having brunch with friends.
